Assistant Finance Manager

Job description
  • Location - London, UK............................ Working within a team of 10, the Assistant Finance Manager will assist and deputise for one of the team’s Senior Finance Managers in his key areas of responsibility.



    • Build and manage relationships with project commercial managers in each sector of responsibility
    • First point of contact for finance for each sector of responsibility
    • Issuing project statements and reviewing monthly CVRs, challenging commercial managers on assumptions/accounting treatment where necessary
    • Reviewing and reporting overheads each month and accruing costs where necessary
    • Monthly forecasting and analysis comparing to budget/prior month forecast
    • Monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting
    • Working alongside the Commercial Director for each sector to close out month-end reporting and produce the monthly financial reporting packs
    • Sector resource reporting and project/staff data control
    • Supporting the business units and commercial directors as required, for any accounting adjustments/ad hoc analysis work
    • Working with Group finance teams to ensure accurate and timely information in both directions
    • Communication of any tangible perceived risk for each sector of responsibility
    • Provision of ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by management



    • Newly Qualified (ACA)
    • Construction industry experience desirable but not essential
    • Attention to detail – excellent analytical and numerical skills
    • Strong Microsoft excel skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Down to earth approach and openness to change and innovation
    • Enjoys working in a team environment
